About Me

My career in comms

I call my business In The Right Order as much of my work is about using words in the most effective way, whatever the context. It’s a skill I’ve learned from a lifetime of writing for work and pleasure.

The foundation of my career was video production. For many years I devised concepts, wrote scripts and ran production teams to create documentaries, dramas, comedies and animations for a wide variety of organisations.

After relocating to the South West in 1998 I diversified into copywriting for brochures, newsletters, websites and features. I was fortunate to secure a part time PR role at Nu-Heat Underfloor Heating & Renewables. I took to PR like a duck to water!

I returned fully to freelance work in 2010, setting up In The Right Order to provide PR, copywriting and social media services to businesses, charities and other organisations locally and further afield.

Many of my clients are retained, enabling me to build up a relationship with them as a trusted partner for their business. In general, I only work for one client within a particular sector, so there is never a clash. My service is tailored the client’s needs and aims; I work both strategically and reactively. And I always go above and beyond to achieve the best result for each and every client, large or small.

I also provide ad hoc services and short term project work, and collaborate with marketing agencies in Devon and London.
